George - Optics Warehouse employee - recently took the ZeroTech Vengeance 4-20x50 for a test run and has left his thoughts below.

ZeroTech is an Australian brand of quality, high-performing Optics, and makes for an exciting addition to the UK Market. ZT state that their scopes are designed to meet the harsh and ever-changing conditions of the ‘backcountry’, and put the Shooter first.

I had the chance to test one of their Vengeance models; the 4-20x50 SFP Illuminated ¼ MOA Rifle Scope and I’ve provided my thoughts below.

ZEROTECH VENGEANCE - SUMMARY

"The VENGEANCE model is engineered, tested and priced to deliver you, the Shooter, with the absolute best value for money without shortchanging you on features." (ZeroTech)

FEATURES

  • Fully Multi-Coated Lenses
  • Argon Purging
  • Illuminated Reticle
  • 30mm Tube
  • Water/Fog Proof
  • Life Time Warranty

ZT’s Triple-A Life Time Warranty is of note. Transferable (with no need for paperwork), has an unconditional lifetime repair or replacement guarantee, and lifetime refurbishment free of charge.

Put simply, this is one of the best warranties available in my opinion.

MY THOUGHTS...

R3 RETICLE

I found the R3 reticle extremely user-friendly. It’s also not intimidating and without clutter, making it ideal for new Shooters, but has enough for experienced Shooters to take advantage of. The R3 reticle features a floating centre dot and subtensions of 1 MOA, marked by dots, and with hash marks every 4 MOA. The day I took the Vengeance out it was a bit windy to say the least but the R3 ret made judging holdovers simple and easy. The floating dot provides an uncluttered target image and naturally guides the eye to a precise point of aim.

USABILITY

The Vengeance is a straightforward Scope with all the controls where you would expect to find them. The turrets are “lift-up” lockable and generate an audible click as well as good, positive feedback when making adjustments.  The tracking was impressive and would consistently return to zero without any problems. The side focus adjustment was smooth and precise without feeling cheap and slack. The side focus is well suited to making quick adjustments on the fly.

IMAGE QUALITY

In low light in and around the woods, the Vengeance performed very well. The image was clear and I was easily able to identify what I was looking at. Looking into the canopy I could quite easily pick out a pesky squirrel, I missed but that’s not the scope's fault. When Target Shooting, I did notice some colour aberration but it was extremely bright and this is one of ZeroTech’s more entry-level scopes. The image was plentiful and usable out to 200m. Past 200m, I did start to notice a drop in image quality but that's to be expected for a Scope at this price point.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, I think the Vengeance is a very good, entry-level Scope that has got all the features for a new shooter to learn all they need to know about using a Scope. For the more experienced shooter the Vengeance offers a no-nonsense experience whilst still providing some excellent and handy features. All in all, I recommend the Vengeance as a perfect choice for Air Gunners and Rimfire users who want a Hunting and Range Day Scope. As well, the Vengeance is a great Scope for those new to Shooting who want a Scope to progress with.
