James - our resident Night Vision and Thermal expert - has put together a comparison of the Pard NV007A 12mm and 16mm making it easier to decide on which model best suits your Shooting needs.

...

One of the most common questions I get asked is; "What would suit me better, the 12mm or the 16mm Pard NV007A?"

It is a justified question because there are many applications for the NV007A.

It must be noted that the measurement relates to the size of the lens inside the NV007A unit itself; the 12mm has a 12mm lens and the 16mm has - yep, you guessed it - a 16mm lens.

So below I have put together a little comparison to help you decide what might be best for your needs.

Pard NV007A 12mm

The 12mm version has a lower base mag of 1x and ranges all the way through to 7x magnification.

This makes it perfect for close-range shooting of anything from 10 yards up to 150 yards and therefore, being more suited towards airgun and rimfire setups.

The lower base mag also means that you will have a wider field-of-view on your display so the shooter is able to track and identify targets at a close range, quickly.

Pard NV007A 16mm

The 16mm version has a magnification range of 4-28x making it very well suited to centrefire and long-range night-time shooting.

The only downside to this is that you have a reduced field-of-view.

However, you are more than likely to be shooting at targets that are at least 100 yards away, making this field-of-view sufficient.

So, that's my quick comparison of the differences between the two NV007A models.

Taking things further, I have explained what's changed between the NV007 (GEN 1) & NV007A (GEN 2)?

Briefly, the main difference is the Hi-def OLED screen now installed on the NV007A, which produces a crisper and clearer image.

The principle of having two different lens options is the same as that on the NV007 and NV007A but the magnification ranges of the devices have dramatically increased on the NV007A series, as you can see from the paragraphs above.
